“…you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea, in Samaria and to the end of the earth…” Acts 1 v 8b
Reaching out to friends and neighbours is not always easy. However, the new beautifully designed little notepads, with a Bible verse on the front and a magnetic fastener, might be just right for a small present; a pack of ten 3 ply pocket tissues, with ‘God Bless You’ on them, would be an amusing way of opening up a conversation and we also have a selection of friendly notecards with scripture text which you could use as greeting cards. Do come in and browse.
As Summer approaches we will be welcoming visitors to our homes and church fellowships. Please do encourage them to visit us here. Maybe your Ladies Group or Home Group would like to come in and enjoy fellowship one afternoon with Penny’s Special – please speak to Val or Penny to book.
Penny’s special for May:- a nice cup of tea and a tray bake for £2.25
In the Coffee Shop keep your eyes open for some special Summer dishes! And remember our Loyalty Cards – ‘Buy 8 drinks get the 9th free’ – just ask at the till!
New books, gift items, greeting cards, and CDs are arriving every week so please do come in and see what the Lord is providing. They will help you to talk about your faith. To order Pentecost Resources from CPO please ask to see a catalogue – there are some wonderful poster designs to uplift the heart and praise the Spirit.
CHURCHES TOGETHER IN TIVERTON
In Tiverton we have a lively ‘Churches Together’ fellowship where representatives from most of the local congregations meet together to plan joint events. Our last United Service was at St Andrews Church on Sunday 29 April at 6:30pm (were you there?) and the next Enablers Meeting is on Tuesday 15 May in the Baptist Church Coffee Room at 10:00am. To find out about National events go to the website of the Churches Together in England at www.cte.org.uk.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK
This year Christian Aid Week is to be held between 13 and 19 May. More information may be found at www.christianaid.org.uk or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. With so many areas in the world in distress this is another opportunity to give our sisters and brothers abroad a helping hand. Please be generous, and include them in your prayers.
A wonderful new initiative - What does it mean to pray 'Thy Kingdom Come'?
The Archbishop of Canterbury has reflected on this question and invited other national church and network leaders to reflect on it too. In preparation for the 10 days of prayerThy Kingdom Come 10 - 20 May 2018, a series of videos have been produced exploring the question from different perspectives and traditions. These videos are for you to watch and reflect on the same question: 'What does it mean to pray "Thy Kingdom Come"'? The main TKC resource website is Pledge2Pray at: www.thykingdomecome.global
