“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has come upon you”
Isaiah 60, v 1 (NIV)
How wonderful! As again we welcomed Jesus into our homes over Christmas, we hope you had a prayerful, joyful, peaceful and blessed celebration with family and friends.
Thank you again for your prayers and support since the “Message from the Trustees” in October: praise God, the word of the Lord has gone out, with your cards and gifts, to many hundreds of homes. We pray that it will bring in much fruit. We were uplifted by your prayers and the trading over Christmas. We are praying that this support will continue into the New Year so that the Gospel will be available in the town every day. Please come in to see the new stock as it arrives. We hope it will answer your needs for some time to come – why not come in and browse?
To encourage you to stay longer, and perhaps bring your friends,
Penny’s Special for January is a hot drink and toasted teacake for £2.40.
Bless you for supporting our giving week by week. During 2017 we have been able to send over £250 to Toilet Twinning from the pot in the toilet; £120 to Bible Society for their Bible-a-Month club; over £200 to CHAT (which includes a discount on the cost of meals for their clients); and £20 to Tear Fund.
We have taken over £1,100 from the sale of 2nd hand books and sent many boxes of the un-sold books to Book Aid. (These pre-loved Christian books are kept for several months and then, if not sold, passed on) Our grateful thanks go to everyone who donates in whatever way and to our volunteer who organizes our up-stair room. God bless you.
Just a reminder: from January we will close at 4:30 pm each afternoon. On Wednesdays our opening time will be 10:00 am. If you would like to join us in prayer at 9:30 am on that day you will be very welcome.
January 18th – 25th is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. There will be opportunities for us all to join together for prayer and fellowship – all so necessary in today’s world situation. Please continue in prayer for our work here and for all the churches and fellowships in Tiverton and the surrounding area.
